The simple version: we store data related to your pets, not about you. Account creation is entirely optional. If you choose not to create an account, all your data is stored locally on your device and never on our servers. If you do create an account, we ask for an email address only, and link your account to a randomised ID. Indirectly, through client signatures, we may be able to identify the platform you are using (e.g. iOS, Android) if you create an account.
All data stored by the App is related to the pets of an owner, not about the owner itself. In our database, the owner is represented by a randomised ID. This randomised ID is linked to the authentication of the user. The user has the option to create an account. If no account is created, data is stored locally within the App and is never uploaded to our servers. If an account is created, it requires an email address and only an email address. No password or other personally identifiable data is collected. We do not employ "fingerprinting", but some metadata is stored. Indirectly, through client signatures, we may be able to identify non-identifiable information if you create an account such as the platform you are using (e.g. iOS, Android). Data on our servers is stored encrypted, but Smarthound has the encryption keys and can access the data (e.g. pet name, pet age).
The user cannot delete the account by themselves. Your account may be deleted by Smarthound.
The App does not use or collect any personal data related to your geographic location.
The App itself does not collect, transmit, or maintain user data other than the email address if an account is optionally created, and the data related to the pets.
No personal information is collected, transmitted, or maintained by the App other than an optionally provided email address. We do not share personal information with anyone.
No data is shared with advertising companies.
No data is shared with vendors or analytics providers.
We comply with COPPA. We do not solicit nor gather any data from children under the age of 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with information without their consent, he or she should contact us (see contact information at the bottom).
